CBSE invites students to participate in 43rd UPU Letter Writing Competition 2014
The Department of Post, Ministry of Communication & IT, India will be organizing the 43rd Universal Postal Union (UPU) Letter Writing Competition 2014 for students on 5th January, 2014. The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has requested the Principals/Heads of all the affiliated schools/ institutions to organize the competition in their respective schools.
For organizing the competition, the schools are required to send the entries on or before 21st December, 2013 to the Chief Postmaster General of their States for evaluation, who will submit the three best entries to the Postal Directorate, New Delhi. Then the best three entries on the National level will be selected by the Department of Posts, Ministry of Communications & IT, Government of India. The best three entries on the national level will be awarded cash prizes and certificates of achievement. The best entry at the national level will qualify as the official Indian entry for the International Level Competition of Universal Postal Union. In addition, a consolation prize and a certificate will be will be distributed by the department to one best entry from each circle.
